The Ekinrin-Adde community in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State will come alive from June 20 to 27, 2026, as the Ekinrin-Adde Community Development Association (EACDA) rolls out activities for its annual Ekinrin-Adde Day Celebration and Awards Night.
The dates were confirmed in a statement issued by the EACDA National Publicity Secretary, Pastor Emmanuel Ajibola Ogungbuyi, who described the program as a week-long celebration of culture, unity, development, and growth.
Festivities commence on June 20 with the New Yam Festival (Adan), an annual cultural rite marking the start of the season. Activities will continue throughout the week, leading to the Awards Night on Friday, June 26, at the Ekinrin-Adde Events Center, and culminating in the grand Ekinrin-Adde Day Cultural Celebration on Saturday, June 27, at the Baptist High School Open Field.
Cultural performances will showcase the rich traditions of the community, while the popular Akogba Mountain Hike will bring hikers from across the country together. The hike begins with medical check-ups at the town’s Ojude Market Square, followed by mountain exploration and entertainment sessions featuring musicians at strategic community locations.
Pastor Ogungbuyi called on sons, daughters, and friends of the community, both locally and in the diaspora, to make adequate preparations. He emphasized that the celebration aims to reinforce unity, preserve cultural heritage, and honour individuals whose contributions have strengthened community-driven development initiatives.
The 2026 edition is expected to highlight Ekinrin-Adde’s commitment to cultural pride and collective progress.
