The Ekinrin-Adde Students’ Union has released the 32nd edition of The Mail, its official annual magazine documenting the people, culture, and progress of Ekinrin-Adde community in Ijumu Local Government, Kogi State.
The 32nd edition arrives as a milestone issue, marking one year of leadership under the Ekinrin-Adde Community Development Association (EACDA) President, Elder Deinde Toyin Komolafe, and celebrating the 5th edition of the Alede Olu Adde Banquet held in honour of His Royal Majesty, Olu Anthony Bamigbaiye Idowu (CON).
Among the highlights, the magazine celebrates Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibileye’s appointment as Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Lokoja, describing his journey from Ekinrin-Adde’s own classrooms to the helm of a federal university. It also pays tribute to the late HRH Oba Samuel Agboola Faleke, remembered for his lifelong dedication to education and community development.
Readers will find an exploration of the Adan Dance and its ties to the annual Emidin Festival, alongside candid interviews with Pastor Stephen Adedotun Olaitan and Dr. Obafemi Ayodeji Olanrewaju, both of whom reflect on their roots in Ekinrin-Adde and the role EASU played in shaping their journeys.
The edition also profiles Hon. Dr. Aderibigbe Helen Adeniyi, Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology in Kogi State, and recognizes this year’s award recipients for their contributions to the union and the wider community. Essays on youth empowerment, security in Kogi State, and patriotism round out a publication that continues to serve as both a record of achievement and a call to collective action.
The Mail remains a cherished tradition for Ekinrin-Adde indigenes at home and abroad — a reminder, as the magazine’s foreword notes, that documenting community history matters now more than ever.
